The central objective of this reform is to raise awareness among citizens about the criminalisation of gratuity payments in the healthcare sector, thereby contributing to their eradication.
It aims to complement the legal reforms implemented to criminalise this practice. It involves the creation of a detailed campaign program to ensure that the awareness-raising campaign is effective and reaches the majority of the citizens. Once the program is adopted, it will be implemented by the National Protective Service (NPS). An interim assessment of the first results of the campaign will be published by 2023. The implementation of the reform will be completed by 2024.
Funding: roughly EUR 1.2 million.
In April 2023, a public consultation was launched on a call for an awareness raising media campaign against gratuity payments. The call can be accessed here.
