The reform aims to address the challenges of 5G readiness and promote the accelerated deployment of 5G networks in the country.
The implementation of the reform includes reduced spectrum fees, effective as of 1 January 2021 (the amount of the one-off fee was reduced by 50% and the annual fee for spectrum use by 35%).
Bulgaria completed the spectrum assignment in the 26 GHz band, as well as in the 700 MHz and 800 MHz bands.
The reform was completed in 2023.
