The primary aim of the project is to develop the "Food Connects" model, focusing on the creation of sustainable green jobs for employees with disabilities and young people with special needs who are potential future employees. Specifically, this involves the food production, processing, and supply sectors, as well as the field of biodiversity. These are work environments in which people with disabilities and young people with special needs can be empowered and acquire work skills to the extent that, in the long term, they can also work in regular work environments, with the support of trained professionals from those environments. As part of the project activities, employed individuals with disabilities and new potential employees with disabilities will be provided with the opportunity to acquire knowledge, experience, and support that will enhance their work competencies to the extent that they will be employable even in external supportive work environments in the food production, processing, and supply sector, as well as in the field of biodiversity.
For the successful operation of the "Food Connects" model, it will be necessary to establish a Network of Partners who will include their products in the Catalog of Healthy Meals at Your Fingertips. The network will facilitate market entry for employment centers and social enterprises, help them achieve fairer prices for their products, and thereby facilitate the creation of permanent jobs for employees with disabilities and future employees who are young people with disability determinations.
