This investment, which receives €30 million from the Recovery and Resilience Facility, is targeted towards manufacturing companies and supports the direct decarbonisation of industrial emissions through capital investment up to €1 million per project or supporting the research and innovation for new methods of decarbonisation.
The objectives of the fund are to reduce the payback period of key carbon reducing technologies at plant level by incentivising companies to invest in, and adopt these technologies; and, to increase the resilience of companies to climate change and assist them to accelerate progress towards a net-carbon zero pathway.
Over 35 projects have been approved under the fund since its launch, with an allocated grant funding of approximately €6 million.
