5.3 SEAI/HSE Pilot Energy & Decarbonisation Pathfinder

  • Project

Nenagh Health Centre is a two‑storey primary care building providing non‑acute services and planned to remain in use for mental health and key functions within the hospital campus. The project proposes a proportionate programme of shallow‑retrofit energy measures suited to the building’s scale and Energy Category 10 status, including LED lighting upgrades, targeted fabric improvements, and re‑engineering of the entrance lobby to improve efficiency and user experience. While options such as PV and heat pump integration are considered in the context of wider campus and electrical capacity constraints, the primary focus is on improving energy performance, reducing carbon impact, and maintaining functionality without pursuing a full deep retrofit or redevelopment solution.
