This project delivers a programme of targeted shallow‑retrofit energy upgrades to the existing Plunkett Home Community Nursing Unit, a 33‑bed facility registered for 40 residents, which operates within the constraints of a shared campus and limited scope for expansion. The works focus on improving fabric performance through cavity and loft insulation, window replacement, and upgrading existing lighting to high‑efficiency LED systems, alongside the installation of roof‑mounted photovoltaic panels to support on‑site renewable energy generation. Electrical infrastructure upgrades form part of the programme to improve building performance and resilience. Due to site limitations and longer‑term redevelopment considerations, the project prioritises extending the operational life of the existing facility, reducing energy consumption and emissions, and improving comfort and efficiency through a shallow retrofit approach rather than full replacement or deep retrofit works.
